A new development rezoning application was submitted to the City of North Vancouver to redevelop the site of the apartment building that was damaged by fire this year at 1033 St. George’s Avenue in North Vancouver. The proposed development includes 54 low-rise apartment units constructed on the existing concrete underground parking foundation.

Mirra launches the second phase of their residential development in Newton in Surrey, BC. Home prices start at $154,900 and are developed by Wanson Development and designed by Burrowes Huggins Architects. Development application indicates that this phase will have 188 units. Onni has applied for a development permit to erect a 125-unit, nine-storey high-rise at 2321 Scotia Street, one block east of Main. The site is a corner lot on Scotia and 7th. The project was originally to be developed by the Eden Group, and branded as Elyse, but was cancelled due to high development costs. Onni has now taken on development of this property.

Polygon has just applied for the development permit to build a new community within their master planned community of Windsor Gate. The property is located at 1153 Kensal Drive in Coquitlam, BC. and is a proposed 4-storey woodframe condominium, featuring 72-units.

Polygon Homes has started the development permit application process for their newest development in the Sunstone Community. The proposed development is a 91-unit townhouse development located at 10725 Delsom Crescent in Delta, BC. The Sunstone Community is located close to the Alex Fraser Bridge and flanked by Nordel Way and 84 Avenue.
New Development: 1134 Burrard Street, Vancouver

BC Housing’s mandate to fund preconstruction costs for supportive housing on 12 city-owned sites includes the 1134 Burrard Street Youth and Family Services building, who’s lease expired on June 30th, 2009. There has been a Rezoning application submitted by Dysarchitecture to rezone the DD Downtown District zone to a CD-1 Comprehensive Development zone in order to construct a 16-storey building featuring 141 residential units with one level of underground parking. The site is located between Helmcken and Davie Streets in downtown Vancouver.
New Development: 8190 Park Road, Richmond

A 95-unit, 14-storey, high-rise has been proposed for 8190 Park Road in Richmond. The development permit has been submitted by Andrew Cheung Architects, and the site is located on the corner of Buswell and Park Road in Richmond, BC. The proposed building has ground-floor retail units along Park Road.
New Development: Harbourside Village, North Vancouver

Concert Properties has approached City Council with a proposal to turn the 136,000 square foot lot at 801 Harbourside Drive in North Vancouver into a large mixed-use neighbourhood. The planned community includes 525,000 square feet of residential space, and 320,000 square feet of office space. This project is still in the planning stages, and may not actually happen. One Councillor, Bob Fearnley, has already expressed his disapproval due a GVR mandate to preserve industrial land in outlying municipalities.

Vancouver developer Cressey Launched a Realtor opening on June 23, 2009, and has now setup a showhome at their South Surrey/White Rock development. The project will consist of 200 Homes, and is located at 172 Street and 2 Avenue in Surrey.
The project consists of detached homes with detached 2-car Garages, some with a coach house. All homes in the subdivision are 3-bedroom with unfinished basements.
